We had our lunch at North Park.
The reason for this libre is that our project applications manager, Sir Ranier, just turned 38 today. Aw. Pee Bertdi Sir.
This was my first time to eat at North Park.
"Really, first time mo dito Ken?" asked Laine.
"Opo"
"Talaga?! Wala bang ganito sa Iloilo?" Sir Rain inquired.
"Nope."
After that the bullets of inquiries kept on firing, "May Mcdo ba dun?", "May Jolibee din ba?", "o Max?", "Chowking?"
Eeehh?
We played the Meron-O-Wala for a couple of minutes.
"Wag mong pansinin yan, bully talaga si sir," quipped Anna,"haha. ngayon ikaw naman ang kukulitin niya. Dati kasi ako laging inaasar nyan dahil ako ang pinakabata."
I turned to face her,"how old are you again, Anna?"
"21. Ikaw?"
"20."
I fell silent for a moment. Then blurted out,"uh-oh."
They laughed.
We ate. Siomai, congee, tofu veggie, toasted noodles, honey lemon chicken. There were also some free soup, which tasted more like hogwash than soup, and the complimentary (hot) tea tasted really funky (L's opinion, I didn't took a sip). We talked. About R's food escapades during his younger years - what he ordered at the first Chowking, or that Combo Meals at Mcdo and Jolibee had never existed during earlier times (and I was very grateful not to experience that kind of difficulty. Or I would probably spend a longer time deciding what to pair with a piece of chicken drumstick).
North Park is okay. They serve chinese food which felt just like eating at home (And I miss homecooked food *sob!*).
